Building Systems We build using a variety of building systems including timber framing, straw bale, and standard construction along with methods like Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), and Structural Insulated Panels (SIP’s), all with the goals of the highest energy efficiency and lowest operating costs possible.
Net Zero Energy SystemsIt's now possible to build homes that produce as much energy as they use! These homes are called Net Zero Energy Homes. With a combination of high levels of insulation, careful attention to air tightness, very efficient mechanical systems, and the use of renewable energies, you can eliminate the worry of rising energy costs and protect your financial future while drastically reducing your carbon footprint. I know it works because we are doing it ourselves.
Materials & FinishesIt has been said that the air in many homes is more toxic than big city air on a smog day. There are many healthy materials that don’t contribute to poor indoor air quality. We like to use methods and materials that promote a healthy indoor environment along with helping the “great outdoors”.
